The world is currently producing unprecedented amounts of digital data, as well as unprecedented growth in digital connectivity. These trends enable new ways of utilizing digital data to better understand the real-time needs of communities in order to help them increase their collective and individual resilience.

Making the most of this opportunity to build resilience and end extreme poverty is one of the world’s biggest challenges. It requires creative thinking and new partnerships.

Please RSVP now to join entrepreneurs, innovators, development organizations, technology providers, donors, and governments for a two-day Harnessing the Data Revolution for Resilience Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on May 10th and 11th, 2016.

The Summit, organized by USAID/RDMA and FHI 360, will focus on harnessing the power of digital data to transform the design, implementation, and monitoring of international development programs to support resilience capacities at various scales. It will highlight both existing case studies and promising new approaches that use advances in data and technology to build resilience, such as real-time data, open data, big data, citizen-generated data, and innovative sensor technology.

The overall objectives of the Summit are to:

  • Showcase state of the art approaches and local examples that demonstrate how the data revolution can help inform resilience efforts; and
  • Catalyze dialogue and partnerships between development practitioners to providers of data and data related services who are applying innovative approaches to building resilience

The Summit will bring together 100 global and regional experts to discuss the latest issues regarding data for resilience in Asia. Please RSVP to join us as we discuss and share what this new reality means for resilience and explore how to take advantage of the multitude of opportunities emerging in this space.
